Chiripal Group’s Grew is expanding its solar module manufacturing capacity to 6 GW with the addition of 4.8 GW of new production lines, Deepak Jain, president at Grew, told pv magazine.
Jain said the company’s existing 1.2 GW fab has 600 MW of mono PERC capacity and another 600 MW equipped for TOPCon. The additional 4.8 GW of new manufacturing lines will also be TOPCon ready.
Jain said they are sourcing stringer from ATW and the rest of the machinery from Jinchen. The new capacity will be commissioned in two phases. “By May 2024, 1.6 GW of new lines will become operational and by March 2025, another 3.2 GW will start production, taking the company’s cumulative manufacturing capacity to 6 GW.”
With the new addition, Grew will have 2.8 GW of module manufacturing capacity in Rajasthan’s Jaipur and 3.2 GW in Gujarat’s Dholera.
“In addition, we are bringing 2.8 GW of ingots, wafers and cells manufacturing capacity under PLI scheme in Dholera,” said Jain, adding that the company will focus on TOPCon technology in the near term.
