The streets of Gujarat will soon buzz with an influx of global leaders, potential investors, and distinguished delegates as the tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) unfolds on January 10, 2024. The three-day summit, touted as a grand platform for fostering collaboration and exploring investment opportunities, will feature a significant seminar focusing on the greenfield smart city, Dholera. This seminar, aptly themed as ‘Dholera: A Greenfield Smart City for Smart Businesses’, will run in tandem with the inaugural day of VGGS.
The seminar is set to attract over 500 attendees, including policymakers, industry associations, and business entities. One of the key highlights of the seminar is a panel discussion titled ‘Greenfield Smart Cities: Future of Urbanization’. This discussion will delve into the prospects of developing sustainable and intelligent urban areas and will be a platform for stakeholders to discuss investment opportunities in Dholera.
A thematic session on ‘Dholera: India’s First Semicon City in Making’ will spotlight the potential of Dholera to become a global hub for the ESDM sector. The session aims to attract entrepreneurs globally to build a semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem in Dholera, highlighting the city’s unique features and potential as an investment destination.
A day prior to the seminar, a virtual reality tour of the Dholera Special Investment Region will be featured at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show – Smart Infrastructure Pavilion. This immersive experience is designed to showcase Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Dholera and to highlight the city’s potential as a significant investment destination.
The VGGS, initiated by PM Modi in 2003, continues to promote Gujarat’s trade and industry on a global scale. The tenth edition of the summit will be inaugurated by PM Modi himself, marking two decades of the VGGS’s existence. To commemorate this landmark, the Union government will release a commemorative coin and stamp of Rs 20 each. The summit has already seen the signing of 234 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) proposing investments of more than Rs 10.31 lakh crore, generating around 13 lakh employment opportunities. It is clear that the VGGS and the Dholera seminar are poised to make a significant impact on the global investment landscape.
