Ahmedabad: Construction work on the expressway connecting Ahmedabad with the smart city of Dholera is underway. Providing information about the status of Greenfield Corridor projects in the country, Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari stated that, as of June 30th, 2024, construction is completed for 71 km of this 109 km long highway. In a written reply, the minister also stated that the project will be completed in the current financial year 2024-25.
The Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway is being built at an estimated cost of Rs. 4,372 crores, out of which Rs. 3,920 crores has been spent till June 30th, 2024. Once the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway is operational, people will be able to commute between the two cities in 40 to 45 minutes.
In another update, regarding the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which passes through Gujarat, the minister stated that 1,070 km out of 1,386 km of the expressway is completed, and the project will be completed next financial year in 2025-26.
As per the reply, work on only 41 km is left on the Delhi-Vadodara section of the expressway, as 804 km has been completed till June 30th, 2024.
Meanwhile, work is completed on 214 km of the Vadodara-Mumbai section, which is less than half of the total length of the section, which is 450 km long.
Out of the total cost of around 1 lakh crores, the government has incurred an expenditure of Rs. 56,990 crores till June 30th, 2024, on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway construction.
