The expressway will start at the Sardar Patel Ring Road near Sarkhej in Ahmedabad and extend to Dholera SIR. It will pass through important landmarks, including the future Dholera International Airport at Navagam, improving accessibility throughout the area.

This expressway is an integral part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative, designed to stimulate industrial growth, attract investment, and drive economic progress in Gujarat, particularly around the Dholera SIR region.

With approximately 80% of the work already completed, the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway is expected to be operational by early 2025. The project is progressing on schedule, with a strong emphasis on completing it on time.

The total investment for the construction of this greenfield expressway is ₹4,373 crore. The project is divided into four civil packages, each handled by different contractors to ensure effective and streamlined execution.

Designed to accommodate up to 25,000 vehicles per day in both directions, the expressway aims to alleviate congestion on current routes and enhance overall traffic management.

With a maximum speed limit of 120 km/h, the expressway is tailored for fast, efficient travel. Initially featuring four lanes, plans are in place for future expansions to increase the capacity to twelve lanes.

The project prioritizes sustainability, incorporating roadside plantations and other eco-friendly features to reduce its environmental footprint. In addition, eight key interchanges will enhance regional connectivity, supporting the government’s vision for a well-integrated Gujarat.
