The decision taken in the Cabinet meeting regarding the International Kite Festival
The International Kite Festival has been organized in the state from January 8 by the Tourism Department of the Government of Gujarat. Kite fliers from 65 countries are going to participate in the Kite Festival organized in four cities of Gujarat. This International Kite Festival has been decided to celebrate India’s hosting of the G-20 as the theme of the Kite Festival. It may be noted here that the International Kite Festival is being held in the state after two years. The officials of the tourism department are holding continuous meetings to give a wide format to this International Kite Festival which is being held in the state after two years. Important decisions were taken today in the Cabinet meeting to finalize this plan.

For the last two years, Corona had caused havoc in the state and the country. So, for the first time after two years after the Corona period, the Gujarat government has organized the Kite Festival. Kite festival will be organized in 4 urban areas of the state. Apart from Ahmedabad riverfront, kite festivals are to be held at Vadodara, Vadnagar, Dwarka, Kevadia-Narmada, Somnath, Surat, Rajkot, Dholera and Dhordo. Foreign kite flyers will also participate in the International Kite Festival in Gujarat from January 8 to January 14, 2023. Earlier in the year 2021 and 2022, the Kite Festival was canceled due to the Corona epidemic.

Apart from Ahmedabad riverfront, kite festival is to be held at Vadodara, Vadnagar, Dwarka, Kevadia-Narmada, Somnath, Surat, Rajkot, Dholera and Dhordo in the state. This time Kite Festival will be held for the first time at Statue of Unity and Dholera. Also, various cultural programs have also been organized during the night of January 8 to January 14. Along with this, well-known artists of Gujarat will perform in Kite Mhostav. Various artists performing folk art of Gujarat are also going to participate in the kite festival. Apart from this, a selfie point will also be made in the Kite Festival. A workshop will also be organized on how kites are produced in the state. Various stalls will be set up on the river front.
Approximately 250 kite flyers from 68 countries will be invited
In this International Kite Festival, it has been decided to celebrate Azadi on the theme of Amrit Mahotsav and G-20 Summit. This time the country is hosting the G-20 Summit for the first time, in which case parts of the G-20 Summit will be seen at the Kite Festival. Apart from this, some glimpses of the country will be seen in the form of flying kites as part of the celebration of 75 years of independence. Around 250 kite flyers from 68 countries will be invited in this Kite Festival. Special arrangements are being made for kite flyers coming from abroad. Officials of the Tourism Department informed that, this time, foreign kite flyers will also participate in the Kite Festival of Ahmedabad and the Statue of Unity festival.
